Breakaway Escape Links

The Breakaway Escape Links are a clever and practical rig component designed to release your lead weight when snagged on the seabed — saving your rig, your hook length, and your bait. When the lead becomes stuck, a steady pull causes the escape link to open and release the sinker, allowing you to retrieve the rest of your rig intact.

A must-have for fishing over rough, rocky, or snaggy ground where losing leads is a constant frustration. Breakaway is one of the most trusted names in UK and Irish sea fishing tackle, and their Escape Links are a firm favourite with shore anglers fishing from beaches, piers, and rocky marks around Ireland.
