Shimano Bassterra A LRF AJI Spinning Rod 1.98m (6'6") 0.4–6g

The Shimano Bassterra A LRF AJI Spinning Rod 1.98m (6'6") 0.4–6g is purpose-built for the precision of AJI-style light rock fishing. Designed for targeting horse mackerel, it combines a sensitive tip with a fast, responsive action to help you detect delicate takes and control tiny presentations through the water column.

Sensitivity for subtle bites

A Full Carbon blank enhanced with Shimano's Diaflash construction delivers sensitivity, strength and casting control. The fine tip provides immediate feedback when fish touch the bait, while the blank retains the backbone needed for secure hooksets. Its 0.4–6g casting range suits micro jig heads and soft baits within that rating.

When horse mackerel are suspended mid-water, small movements and careful depth control can make the difference. Whether gently twitching a micro soft plastic or tracking a tiny jig head, the Bassterra AJI helps keep you connected to your presentation and alert to faint bites.

Components for finesse fishing

Corrosion-resistant, tangle-free Fuji Stainless Steel KL-type guides are suited to fine braid or monofilament lines. A custom-designed Shimano VSS reel seat and EVA handle complete the rod, providing a practical setup for technical light-tackle sessions.
