Savage Gear Salmonoid Medium Game

Savage Gear Salmonoid SG2 Medium Game Rod

The Savage Gear Salmonoid SG2 Medium Game is a purpose-built spinning rod for trout fishing, with a particular focus on sea trout and light to medium predator fishing from Irish beaches and rocky shorelines. Built for anglers who need distance, control and dependable performance in coastal conditions, this rod gives you the confidence to make long casts and stay connected to the lure or rig throughout the retrieve.

Its responsive blank helps transmit subtle knocks and tentative takes, making it easier to detect bites when sea trout are feeding cautiously. The action also provides the reliable hook-setting power needed when fishing at range, while retaining the control required to play hard-fighting fish safely from the shore.

Ideal for sea trout and Bombarda fishing

The Salmonoid SG2 Medium Game is particularly well suited to Bombarda fishing, where long casts and accurate presentation are essential. It gives you the casting reach to cover more water with Bombarda floats and lightweight trout lures, while its sensitivity helps you feel what is happening at the business end of the rig.

As well as sea trout, this versatile spinning rod is suitable for a range of light to medium predator fishing techniques. Use it from Irish beaches, rocky shorelines and other open coastal marks when you need a rod that combines casting performance with precise lure control.
