Savage Gear Defiance SG2 Distance Spinning Rod

The Savage Gear Defiance SG2 Distance Spinning Rod is designed for sea-bass anglers who need maximum casting distance from the shore. Built on a long, lightweight 24/30T high-modulus carbon blank, this rod helps send lures beyond the surf while retaining the control needed during the retrieve, the bite and the fight.

The blank and guide layout are optimised for tight, efficient line flow, helping you achieve consistent long casts with less wasted energy. This makes the Distance Game an excellent choice when sea bass are holding beyond easy casting range or when you need to cover a wide stretch of water from an Irish beach, rocky coastline or river mouth.

At 9ft 6in with a 15–50g lure rating, the rod is suited to distance-focused sea-bass lures such as minnows, metal spoons and sinking pencils. Its long, lightweight design helps you work the lure accurately after the cast, maintain contact throughout the retrieve and stay in control when a powerful fish makes a run.

Choose the Savage Gear Defiance SG2 Distance when you want a long-range sea-bass spinning rod that combines casting reach, responsive lure control and dependable performance for shore fishing.
