Savage Gear Alpha SG2 Monster Baitcasting Rod

The Savage Gear Alpha SG2 Monster Baitcasting Rod is built for anglers targeting big pike on Irish loughs with large swimbaits and other heavy lure presentations. Designed around a reinforced progressive blank, it handles substantial lures with confidence while delivering the strength needed for aggressive strikes, powerful hook sets and hard-fighting predators.

The fast action gives you precise lure control and helps you present large baits accurately around weed beds, drop-offs and open lough water. Its strong backbone keeps you in control when a big pike turns or makes a powerful run, while the progressive blank provides the reserve power needed to fish under serious pressure.

With an 8ft 6in length and 70–150g lure rating, the Alpha SG2 Monster is suited to heavy pike fishing from both boat and bank. The extra casting range helps you cover more water from the shore, while the powerful build gives boat anglers the control needed to work large swimbaits and guide a hooked fish away from snags.

Whether you are casting from an Irish lough bank or working big pike lures from a boat, the Savage Gear Alpha SG2 Monster gives you the fast lure control, reinforced strength and dependable fighting power required for serious monster-pike fishing.
